The 2011 Toyota Sequoia has strong towing and hauling prowess and this can be seen physically.  Some may be intimidated by this look, a macho look.  It has large chrome grille, tall hood and flanks that may seem imposing.  It has big door handles and chrome mirrors almost seemingly muscle bound.

The interior is roomy but the upholstery may seem not so classy.  The controls in the panel may be seen as really large but can be pressed easily. The seating space in the Sequoia is quite good.  The first and second rows are roomy and comfortable.  The front seats are also very wide that slim drivers might have a hard time.  The third row is quite smaller and uncomfortable to sit at than the first two.  The Toyota has added a trailer sway control system and a blind spot monitor.  All of the models include a keyless entry, tilt or telescopic steering wheel lined with leather, cruise control and a console located overhead the speaker.  There are eight speakers with satellite radio, USB ports and Bluetooth streaming.  Additional features to the Platinum edition are heated mirrors, rear seat DVD system, premium JBL sound system, navigational system and ventilated Captain’s Chair.  The 2012 Toyota Sequoia can sit eight people with much room in the first two rows.  The third row is not so roomy and can fit only small kids.

There are safety features of the Toyota Sequoia includes stability and traction control systems and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.  It is also equipped with a dual stage advanced front air bag system, seat mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger.  There are also roll-sensing side curtain air bags for the three row seatings.  There is also knee airbags for the driver and front passenger.

There are two engines available, a powerful V8 rated at 310 horsepower, 4.7 liter and 5-speed automatic or a V8 with 381 horsepower, 5.7 liter and 6-speed auto.  The recommended one is the latter and it also has greater torque.  Both engines come matched to a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic and 0-60 mph acceleration that can be shifted in as quick as 6.7 seconds.  The Sequoia can be shifted to the tow or haul mode to modify the transmission to boost its performance and can tow as much as 7,400 lb.

There is also no doubt that the Sequoia consumes a lot of gas with its sheer body weight alone.  It has mileage of 12 to 16 mpg depending on the model and engine.  Driving the Sequoia makes you feel that there is much excess body motion and nosedive.  The four-wheel independent suspension does a good job in stabilizing the vehicle during cornering.
